Story:
Knowing the day of the Fishing Event was approaching, and approaching fast, I knew that it was time for King Tut to take part. Grabbing him, head collar and lead rope only of course, i walked him down to the beaches, his head being flung and his back legs kicking out with almost every step.
Two hours later we arrived, his struggle delaying us by a long while. Un-tethering him, i donned some new equipment that I designed for him to be able to breathe underwater. It wasn't anything fancy or technical, just practical.
Letting him loose once more, I slipped into my wet suit, grabbing the camera and other stuff like I did the day before and waded into the water after Tut. Luckily for me this time he stayed in the shallows. Slowly swimming behind him, I made sure to keep my distance, his mood swings erratic and unexpected at times.
Still here four hours later, I was getting tired and bored, Tut still loving what he was seeing beneath the waves, the struggle long forgotten. I think he actually liked this whole "Fishing" thing.
Growing weary, I walked back to the beach to remove the oxygen tanks, their weight taking its toll on my back and legs. Grabbing the lighter snorkel, almost mimicking Tuts' I clambered back in, camera in hand ready to take the photo of a lifetime.
Soon enough, my luck rang true. He spotted something and something fast. Kicking my legs, propelling me along his side, I tried and tried to take a photo of the fish he was perusing, but to no avail. The fish was simply too fast. But that certainly didn't stop Tut. He swam and swam, legs kicking faster each time, his hair flailing slowly, but wildly underneath the water, making pretty patterns as it went.
Before long, Tut struck, and boy was it good. The huge barracuda, wriggling between his jaws, trying to get himself freed. Sadly that didn't happen. But seeing Tut utilse the hands free, dome topped fishing net, was glorious. It worked perfectly, trapping the fish inside a soft netting, with enough room to swim around freely and happily.
I got what I wanted, and so did Tut, but now I needed to convince him to leave the water. It wasn't easy..........
